Family vacation done right The location is amazing nice wooded area campground is in the same space at cottages but not large or loud. Loved that there was a pool. Worked great after getting there and wanting to relax with the kids who still want to swim. Everything you need it there. We weren't charcoal people so we took our own bbq. Full size kitchen, fridge and stove. Bathroom was really big and the beds were so cozy. Made it great to see the lightening storm we enjoyed through the night and some much needed rain. Got the kids some fries from mabou munchies, great home made fries 🍟 😋 whether you're traveling afar or just on your own island this is a great place to go with family. Beach 5 minutes away, fishing 10 minutes away blueberry picking just up the road. Thank you Tammy and James! Hope to be back next year

Wonderful location and owners! We stayed for a week in Cottage #2 as a family of 3! The cottage had everything you needed to stay comfortably, from the well-stocked kitchen with everything you needed from utensils, to a coffee maker, pots and pans etc, and the beds were so comfortable! The pool was fantastic for the days we decided to stay around, and there is an incredible beach less than 5 minutes up the road, and the sunsets .WOW! On the days we explored, 20 minutes from Inverness and Port Hood with the town of Mabou 5 minutes away- a grocery store that is very well stocked, groceries, a nice museum, and a gas station. It was a great way to disconnect for a while. Tammy and James, the owners, were incredible, kind, helpful, and just overall amazing folk! The Mabou Munchies food truck is on site- so good!!! and nice when a Mom doesn't want to cook or leave. 🙂 Would definitely stay again.

We stayed for a week and it was AMAZING! The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals, utensils, pots, pans etc.. The beds were very comfy, and many thoughtful touches throughout the cottage. There are even patios on both sides of the cottage, so you can choose to sit in the shade or sun, and it was wonderful. The pool was fantastic on days we decided to lie low and relax. The location....20-25 mins from many of the popular spots like Inverness and Port Hood. There is an amazing beach less than 1 km away and the sunsets.....some of the best in the world. Tammy and James were such wonderful and helpful hosts, and the food truck YUM! A hidden gem for sure.

Had a family reunion at the Ceilidh Cottages comfortably accommodated 20 family members. We had a great time getting to know the owners Tammy and James. We will come back to enjoy all the amenities and beautiful scenery of the camp grounds and the surrounding countryside.

Just spent a weekend in beautiful West Mabou and stayed here. Very pleasantly surprised as there were 4 in our group and these cottages were very roomy. We were also impressed with the care and cleanliness put into by the couple who operate the facility. Nice folks and a lovely weekend.

Tammy and her husband were very friendly, beyond helpful and great hosts. I say Tammy went above and beyond.
We were a last minute booking, Tammy made suggestions of which cottage she thought we would like. She was aware we were arriving on 2 motorcycles. When we arrived they made exceptions to allow us to park on pavement very close to our cottage.
While chatting with them we learned that they are both from Ontario, areas that we know and learned what brought them to Cape Breton, and how wonderful it is.
Tammy generously offered to take us in to Mabou to buy groceries as staying in a cottage was not part of our original plans when we left home on July 7, 2024.
The cottage itself was very large, good sized kitchen, living area, nice bathroom and 2 bedrooms. There was a charcoal BBQ on our deck which we used twice.
Laundry facilities were on site, basic washer and dryer, all that is needed to wash a couple of days of clothes.
The only reason location wasn't 5 star was I had dreams of staying overlooking the water while we were on the island, not their fault, my poor planning and hurricane something making our trip wet.
If we were to head out to Cape Breton again I would definitely book here again.
Thanks for the great stay.
